running on and on and into forever

Time for another escapist post :)

I wish I could sing well. And play the guitar well. I would just take my guitar and cycle to the ends of the earth and sing. I guess it's nice to be alone sometimes. Just alone with something you can do and have fun with and never get tired of. I just want to run away from this life for a while. Like maybe spend a year or ten just walking the earth. Just wandering through hills and valleys and plains and forests. To feel the heat of the barren desert and the cold wind of the snow-capped mountains. Somewhere serene, where all you hear is nature. The gentle rustle of the orange-brown leaves as the wind strokes them atop their branches, and the crisp cackle as you step on them. The soft crunch of freshly fallen snow when you make your mark in them. As you read this, do me a favour and turn off whatever music you're listening to. Just listen to the silence. There is no sound. There is no sound but the soft wailing of the wind through the trees. Hear the delicate footsteps of a small animal scampering at the disturbance. Look up and watch as clouds gently float along against the deep blue sky, going about their business without a care in the world. See the white-tipped mountains far away, so large and so far you could run and run and never reach them. Try to spot the pair of birds as they soar overhead, overlooking this wide expanse of green and blue that stretches into the neverending. Turn the corner as the sound of flowing water grows louder, and follow the crystal clear stream  as it just keeps flowing, joining other thousands of other streams in a gentle meander, all of them never starting and never ending, running on and on and into forever.
