i'm going to lose my usual mature blogging tone in this post, so expect a lot of smilies and general retardedness.
Tuesday 8/11: went for blaze training. went for lunch with benyu and my mum, along with the random IBA people also working at my mum's place. had pastamania at west coast plaza, and during lunch saw ms salinah there with another teacher whose name escapes me. odd. spend the rest of the day rotting at home.
Wednesday: went for oasis youth camp recce at sembawang bb/gb campsite. that's the same place we went for company adventure weekend the year before. it's just so... weird to go back to that place again. i mean, i pass by it all the time going to preston's house, but just being inside again brought back memories of CAW '10. it's hard to believe that it's been a year already. time is passing too fast :/
after that went to screw around at sembawang park. played on the swings, slides and everything. memories of childhood! it's so joyful to be young. was reminded of that time we had a class nerf-war at that playground sometime in june. brings back so many memories. sigh. i'm gonna miss this class.
went for lunch at wendy's (had this huuuuge yummy burger) then went to watch tower heist. that shaw place has the best popcorn!!! quite interesting to see eddie murphy and ben stiller working side by side. as expected, freakin' hilarious.
went to jon lee's house after the movie, to play games while the OYC games comm finished up their AI. had a light dinner then went down to some waffle place for WAFFLES <3<3<3 met up with dorothy and (later) yong jian there. just hung out and talked and played bridge. went home tired but happy.
Thursday: had awkward lunch with sean ong and yi jun. that stupid blue girl didn't want to go cuz he wanted to sleep instead T.T was pretty nice i guess. went to watch real steel after that. SUCH A NICE SHOW OMG. feel so sad for the father and the boy :'(
when the show ended, walked out of the theatre and bumped into (figuratively) the philippi people on their wing outing! naturally, i tagged along, being the outing-crasher that i am. went to marina (somewhere. square? circle? something.) and played two rounds of bowling. gosh so fun. benyu and aluwi and mr igoh showed up too! benyu is awesome at bowling. he just picks up a ball like it's weightless and hurls it down the lane at a million miles a second, blowing everything up in the process. ok not really but you get the idea. benyu so buff ^^
after that all the philippi people left and it became a sec 3 outing. daniel showed up with his friend and we spent some time camwhoring at burger king after which we went to the arcade and did some crazy dancing rubbish followed by some fun button-smashing game. oyeah.
so ends the story of the day i went for 3 different outings.
Friday: blaze training in the morning again! nothing special. left early to meet matt koh and shjoneman to go jamming. i realised i spent my 11:11 of 11/11/11 waiting for the bus. must be a sign that i'll be waiting for things my entire life. owell. looking forward to heaven, i guess? anyway, met some new peeps at the jamming place, and got wet en route after a hilarious 15-minute struggle during which shjonny tried to remember where he booked the thing at.
anyway, i felt kinda useless cuz i couldn't play any instrument well. i can play a bit of keyboard, a bit of guitar but none well enough. I HAVE TO PRACTISE MOAR MOAR MOAR. after that went to plaza sing, had the awesomest chilli cheese fries in the world at carl's junior, drank from a ridiculously long straw and played cards and more cards. i was less quiet after becoming comfortable around the new people. yay me. yay for making friends.
went for ice cream (sherbet for me) at 313 afterwards with matt, shjon and charlotte. saw joel tan jd and nigel yee there mugging for chem Os. haha! poor them. anyway joel's coming back for IB so at least will be seeing him again :P
Saturday: BBSG training in the morning. was expecting some boring 3-hour lecture but instead was given some cool talk followed by games and random stuff, ending with an unusually emotional plea for us to work together to serve the BB and be nice to the Boys under us. completely weird.
lunch at burger king (their burgers are PUNY) then went to play TF2 at cyberdome. omg awesome game. that was like the best 2 hours of.... a very long time. and the most well-spent $4 EVAR. rushed down to church after that, and was greeted by a half-strength DG talking about K-pop and a new facilitator Melvin. nice fellow. didn't really enjoy myself but that's a story for another day...
supper with matt koh and shjonny at macs. regretted eating a double quarter pounder with cheese plus fries and a diet coke at 10pm. feel totally FAT and not too comfortable. had a nice talk with matt :) he's such a nice boy.
had a weird conversation with brandon after that. he messaged me while i was about to sleep, then we chatted for an hour. he's a curious person.
on that note, i don't understand why some sec 2s are so tall, handsome and (some might say) hot, while i'm so bloody short and fat and stupid. ugh. life is SO UNFAIR >:(
Sunday: finally finished downloading and installing TF2. spent the entire day playing it. it's awesome.
Monday: crashed the y2/y5 outing at west coast park!! hehehe. so funfunfun. played bridge then tai ti with the primers (or should i say, my fellow primers!) then went to the giant pyramid thing and climbed it. it's so fun just sitting there and listening to them talk and laugh and everything. had a really great time. it started raining after that so we packed everything under shelter and waited. i went with fonny, brian and yong jian to the nearby kart-rental place and started playing tai ti (brian left us because it was raining, and well, he went to cycle and cry in it) in front of the bemused staff.
when the rain stopped brian put his fire-starting skills to good use starting up the fire! we're ever so proud of him. there was a slight drizzle throughout the entire thing, and we just had a great time talking and eating. it felt so nice... the atmosphere and the warmness of the fire while raindrops fell lightly. there was a beautiful (albeit covered-by-cloud-ed) sunset. i swear, it was a scene right out of a movie. light rain, the smell of a barbecue, constant chatter with intermittent laughter against an orange and rapidly darkening sky. so beautiful...
i really enjoyed the company there. the sec 2s are an awesome bunch, and so are the y5s. sometimes i wish i were part of them (i could fit into either cohort, really).
well, that ends my week of fun!
*author's note: it's been about two years since i've written a blog post like that. all the smilies and general lack of formality scares the living shit out of me. i hope i haven't gone mad.
